How can I get Exim code in Nepal?
Obtaining an Exim Code in Nepal is a straight forward process. After meeting the capital requirements and applying online with a few documents at Department of Custom website, you receive Exim code within 7 days.
If any business intends to import goods from a foreign country to Nepal or export goods from Nepal to a foreign country, it must obtain the Exim Code. The minimum paid-up capital required to obtain the Exim Code is NPR 10,00,000 (NPR Rs Ten Lakh). However, the required minimum paid-up capital may vary based on the nature and location of the trading company. The firms that export goods to foreign countries have no limitation on their paid-up capital.
Registration Documents needed:
- Application form (downloaded from the website)
- Company/firm Registration Certificate.
- PAN Certificate.
- VAT Certificate.
Minimum 1 year of bank Guarantee of NPR 3, 00,000 (Nepalese Rupees Three Lakhs) from the Commercial Bank (A-Grade); (Not required if involved in export only)
Recommendation from the bank where the applicant has an account.
- Recent photograph.
- Map of the enterprise.
All documents must be scanned and uploaded on the Department of Customs website.
Processing time: The Department of Customs will provide the EXIM Code within 7 days after verifying the submitted documents and ensuring all requirements are fulfilled.
